longtime reader but first time poster. Been trying this fishing season to pop my walleye cherry with zero success. Been trying swartswood lake with the occasional monksville reservoir. Need some advice!! Where to target,baits, techniques??? Been thinking of also trying a little trolling. Any advice on a basic trolling setup?? Thanks!

Welcome to the site dude! What tactics have you tried? What depths have you fished? Do you have a fish finder? Walleye can be tricky and finicky but once you figure out there pattern throughout the year there not that hard to come by. They should be feeding pretty heavy from now til the end of the year.

Thank! Yes I do have a fish finder been mainly fishing points 25-30 fow. Been using shad raps jigging raps white twister tail grubs and binskys

Pound the bottom...If the bottom feels consistently soft, move to harder structure. This time of year work all the depths from 10ft to the bottom. Don't be afraid to go deeper than 35'...fish to the bottom of what ever structure you are on. Bring a lure retriever...Stay persistent and you will get em!

This time of year u wanna target deeper structure and breaks. Id focus on 20 to 40 fow and work the points at the bottom of the breaklines. Half ounce binsky w short hops and lifts and hover then let down slow on a tight line. After the suns up a little it slows. 6 to 8 am is the right time now

if u wanna try trolling use a 3oz bottom bouncer w a crawler and spinner harness at 1.5ish mph. Thats all i would troll now otherwise jig em
