New to the site

Hey guys,

My name is Stefan from the Cedar Knolls/Whippany area.

I have Been fishing since I was kid. This past year I have gotten back into it and really got into wild trout fishing and have been fishing my home river the whippany with some some success of browns and rainbows.

I also recently started shore fishing the Passaic in the east Hanover area. with some success with a few short pike in the 20 inch range and very small lmb and a few perch. My question is does this area hold larger pike and any small mouth bass?

I am not looking for any specific spots or anything I've Walked pretty far down and I love exploring I am just curious to know if my exploring is worth it :).

Stefan

Welcome Stefan... I don't do very much freshwater fishing but there are a lot of great people on the site that do. I will leave you in their capable hands.

Just watch out for a guy on here named Wilson :D

Welcome! You will find a ton of great info here. Your best way on sharing and receiving info will be through private messaging on here. Most guys will be more willing to help out when they are not worried about thousands of lurkers ending up at their honey hole!

As for the river, you are in a good section. Keep walking those banks and explore. Get away from the known spots and you will find fish more willing to hit your lures. You won't find Smallies though until the P&P confluence and the rocky areas in the towns downstream of there. Google Maps is your friend. Best of luck!

Welcome to the best fishing site in NJ! You can use the search tool to find past Pike reports on this forum. There's so many pages of reports to read it may take up some time. I'll agree with Skunk, your starting off in the right area. Just need to do some exploring which is a must if you want to find the trophies in this little state. The PM tool is your friend. Good luck out there and please let us know how you do.

TIGHT LINEZ.
