9/27/15 - Finally caught a Pickerel !
 

First Pickerel I have ever caught!

Went back to my new favorite spot, after catching that good size bass. Bass wanted nothing to do with me today but the Pickerel were on the attack!

Two got unhooked but i managed to snag two more and reel them in. The bigger one was caught with an okuma celilo Trout/panfish Rod, brought it in like a champ. I estimate the large one had to be at least a pound and a half of a pickerel.

Weather was near perfect and had the spot all to my self. :D

Good Job!! Those spinners are like pickerel gold. If you figure out what speed they want them at, you'll have a lot of fun. One tip, if you don't already have needlenose pliers, you'll want them. The treble hooks suck getting out of a toothy guy that inhales the whole set up. Go get 'em!!!

congrats! now they'll start annoying you by breaking off your lures while you're bass fishing haha

I have them, and also have the cutting kind just incase i need to cut the hook in half. You're absolutely right, i had a hard time with one of them. It was a little stressful trying to get the treble hook out in time to throw the fish back in. I hear pickerel are pretty sensitive

A jaw spreader also comes in handy
