Musconetcong River?
Still checking out new places to fish. What's the deal with the Musconetcong river? I'm particularly interested in the last two access points listed on the NJ DFW website. It shows two spots along rt 173 just south of rt 78. What is in there, what do the access points look like? Can i get a small boat in there, or shore fishing/wading only? Any and all info is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Musconetcong River?
Sleep,
Wouldn't get boat there. Just stick to shore and wading In that area river is maybe 15 feet across and mostly shallow. Have not fished there personally, just pass it on the way to Delaware. One of the points you mentioned is a trout stocking point, just don't know if there are any holdovers there. Eddy should give a better prespective as long as you wont disturb his sunnies spot. Re: Musconetcong River?
trout, smallies, etc. there are canoes/kayaks in there all the time, but access is tough for bigger boats. some of the yard along the river in califon have rowboats etc docked, but no real boat ramps that i know of. tons of shore access points though, even more than are listed on the DFW site.
have fun! |
Re: Musconetcong River?
Hmmm... I do have a rowboat with a short shaft 9.9 that I can hand launch depending on what it looks like. I could just set up a folding chair in the evening near the access points and toss some liver for kittys and see what's there.
