Long weekend funk
 

figured I might as well post the bad reports too and not just the good ones.

Thursday after work I pre-fished for a Saturday bass contest. My conclusion was...you're screwed. Got a few pickerel and perch but only one small bass.

Friday my friend wanted to go for hybrids, he doesn't get to fish much these days and it's basically my personal responsibility to get him on fish when he actually gets a chance. I failed. Trolled til both batteries died and we crawled back in using the paddles. We got two nice 13" crappie, but not the target. Had two other friends out there in two boats and only crappies and a lm bass for them too, no hybrids.

Saturday had the bass contest. Along with some by catch of 4 pickerel and 4 big perch I managed 3 average bass which surprisingly was good enough for 4th place and enough to keep my head above water regarding the full year standing contest. I guess everyone pretty much sucked haha.

Sunday I'll put in the saltwater but let's just say you can call me the dogfish master and I have zero fluke fillets in my fridge! At least I didn't get skunked any day I guess...

I'm starting to really hate the phrase "that's why they call it fishing, not catching"! Hahaha

Come on Chris,

Look like you were still catching just not the target species.

I guess just have to take whatever any given day throws at you.

Keep those reports coming buddy.

Some days they're just so picky and there isn't enough time to figure them out I guess or you just get a small window and need to be in the right place at the right time.
