This one time ....at Spruce Run
 

Not being able to get out since Friday night something needed to be done.

Grabbed couple of my friends and off to Spruce we went.

Wind was a bit too much so decided to mostly stick to bottom fishing.

Fished from 830M till 130AM

Hoping for a late stripper but it was not meant to be. Schools of herring were still visible and splashes galore after 11pm but were not able to connect with any brid.

On the other hand catfish fishing was just a bit short of spectacular.

All shapes and sizes were pulled out on constant basis anywhere from half a pound to a solid 6 pounder that was fighting like crazy.

Night opened up with a double of me and my friend hooking into cats at the same time which was a first for me.

With two fish on board night continued at the same pace. They were all over the livers like the fat kid on the popsicles.

Pretty much stopped counting after 10 with all fish released except of the fatty that my friend pulled out. He swallowed the hook way too deep and even though we thought we removed it with minimal damage it was not meant to be. Nuggets for all...

Overall great night to be out.

P.S. If anyone in the area finds a fishing rod with a reel that's missing a handle let me know. It is my throwaway rod but leaving it last night was not my intention. LoL

All channels. No white or bull.

6lbs was biggest for the year so far. Come fall time will be hunting down whites in the secret spot.

Omg,

I told them not to post that video ....darn it.

But no vodka my brother. Whisky or tequila only for me.

I just have to invest in go pro. Had a camera with me but was too busy catching so didn't even bother with pictures. Plus compared to the fall cats that I been pulling from secret spot the ones we got yesterday were laughable.

Had couple of people stop by and chat with us and had one other friend chilling in rv at the campgrounds who actually called me this morning to tell me that he passed me last night while hanging out in the area.
