River has been much higher than previous summers due to upstate discharge, storms, etc, etc. This time last year the water level was half of what it is right now. Be careful out there ladies and gents. Hope these 2 people are ok. Haven't seen an article about it anywhere yet. The big river is no joke. Mother Nature is the Queen of my world!

Both victims were not wearing PFDs. It's a shame. My condolences go out to their families. Another tragic ending to something that could have been prevented by simply wearing a PFD. I wear one every time I go out because you just never know.

Ditto. Worst case, they'll be more likely to find my body to put my wife at ease.
