Angler vs Pike vs snapping turtle

This is crazy...and part of me thinks he did it on purpose. If you watch the very beginning its like he waits for the turtle to grab it. Kind of a douche thing to do.

I think he did what was right 'cause that pike wasn't going to make it minus a tail.

I agree with you buzzbaiter. Whenever I have a fish, I always bring it in quickly. Have had a couple big ones break free at the last moment. I have seen some big snapping turtles along the Rockaway River in the Wharton/Dover area, and I think they do just fine without fishermen feeding them.

Maybe he caught it in a place like Maine where anglers are required to kill the pike they catch.

Not to hijack your post, buzzbaiter, but I had a misadventure with a snapping turtle the other day, that I managed to record on camera. Just shows how they'll pretty much eat anything they can catch. Luckily I was able to get some help, or I might still be trying to unhook it without getting my fingers bitten off!
