Sunfish on the fly

I wasn't in the mood to put too much thought into catching fish today, so I decided to have some fun with the sunfish at a local pond. It was pretty much non-stop action on popping bugs for a couple of hours.

I do the same once in awhile. I have one of the shortest fly rods you can get at 7'6" just for that reason. They are quite the battlers.

Try that wading the North Branch, probably the most fun you will ever have. SMB, LMB, rock bass, bluegills and an occasional trout.

Nice Vid.
I love catching these fish on my 2 wt fly rod! Great bend in the rod and especially when you get the larger models.

Have also had numerous bass attacks and even landed one where the bass inhaled the bluegill and was able to land both fish with the bluegill lodged in the mouth of the bass due to dorsal fin extension ...first letting the bass go and then the bluegill.
