Fave inshore seabass rig?
Like the title says, how are you guys rigging up for inshore seabass pieces these days? Whats you’re fave set up?
Thanks! JD |
Re: Fave inshore seabass rig?
Okay I'll respond since no one else has. Simple high-low rig with a sinker loop at the bottom, then a few inches up put a 4-6" dropper loop, 8-10" above that put another dropper loop, and 5-6" above that tie on a swivel. Some guys just like plain hooks, some like green/red/orange beads, some like hair teasers or squids, some like plain hooks with gulp. For hooks I either use bait holder hooks or gami octo's similar to tog hooks. Hook sizes depends on what I'm after. If I think there are ling or winter flounder around then I'll downsize the hooks, if not then you can go a little larger. Lastly I just use simple 50lb mono for leader, again some guys like the hard leader you can buy in like 3-5ft pieces.

Re: Fave inshore seabass rig?
As promised, here's my report.
On the way to a charter sea bass and cod trip. We got rear-ended by a van full of puppies. I just got out of hospital. Thank God we're all alive. JD |
