Good day off - 5/15/15
 

Out all day again - about ten hours fishing, 2 hrs driving. Caught a ton of pickerel once again along with some bass and panfish. Started with buzzbait but no real love. Switched to my go to lure - Panther Martin - and it was non-stop all day. I used a 6" steel leader as well as it proved to be invaluable. I would say 1/3 of the pickerel swallowed the entire spinner. I performed oral surgery quite a bit using forceps. Barbless made it easier but still had a few casualties. When pickerel weren't grabbing it, I caught 16 bass up to 17", a few crappies, bunch of yellow perch, redbreast sunnfish, pumpkinseed and a hybrid bluegill-pumpkinseed. I love spinners just for the fun of not knowing what will grab it next. All in all a fun but exhausting day.

No mosquitoes just blackflies which weren't terrible. Breeze kept them off me.

Great day of catching right there. All nice healthy fish especially those assorted panfish. Steel leader? Have a lot of bite offs last time out?:D

With all the pickerel, its a must otherwise I'd either lose a fortune in hardware. Its non-stop action but almost all of them are 12-13". Other fish don't get a chance to grab it! I'm pleasantly surprised at how many bass will take it. Love my PM's . They really are the worlds best fish catcher :D
