I hit a deep spot well below Rt 22 where I did really good last week, this week nothing. Moved down river a bit and it was like standing in a hatchery raceway, fish every where, they just wouldn't commit (stocked yesterday)
Moved down to Rt 202 where it was like opening day. Saw one angler leaving with his limit, I struck out there. Massive bug hatch going on, bugs in my ears, mouth and eyes. Glad to see people out fishing. Rt 202 is not a spot burn, if you don't know this area you must be living under a rock.
Moved over to Duke Island Park. Talked to one angler and I explained to him I was fishing for the smoker today and couldn't buy a fish. He said here, as he reached into his cooler in his car and gave me 6 trout, he said he had more than enough at home. I fished for a while around the shale flats, got a few and went into C&R mode since the guy gave me a limit of trout.
Time to dust off the smoker, 1st fish I kept all year, and they we given to me :)
