Sunday Shad
 

Hit the D on Sunday from 2-8. Beautiful day on the river.

Started hot and fast catching 4 on the first 8 casts! Finished up going 8 for 10, wifey went 3 for 4. Gold flutter spoon was the ticket.

Mostly bucks but a few nice roes. Here are the bigger girls

Guys were catching all day long. Must have watched this one guy pull out over 30 fish, he had the choice spot.

Get out there soon the water is warming fast and they are starting to spawn.

i wish i could figure out what i'm doing wrong cause i can't catch squat shad fishing! haha. nice fishing man, i'm still on the hunt for just one...

Nice job NJ. Sounds like you had a nice day. For us last Thursday it was all about the orange. Anything that had orange in it they were hitting. Who knows if the color even matters. Hopefully we still have a few weeks left.

I am half convinced that color is irrelevant and you just need to put it in front of their face. High sun they are going to be deeper cloud cover shallower.

The water is warming fast and this weeks forecast isn't going to help. I was seeing some spawning activity on Sunday. Not sure how much longer the hot bite will be around.
