D&R Feeder Canal stocking

I fished the D&R in W. Trenton yesterday and didn't fare to well. They stocked it but in an odd way. They drove down the canal tow path but from what we could see they didn't put anything in except at the bridge crossings. WTF drive down the tow path if they are not going to put fish in between the bridges? The fish they did stock were for the most part small, and they only put in two nets at Lower Ferry Rd. Every other time I've seen them put in 8 nets full. Very few fish were caught, I caught my first on a spinner, and I saw a few others caught on spinners, I didn't catch or see any caught on powerbait or worms, although that has been the best baits for the past two weeks.

Any other spots near by, just wondering ? How many more times will the section be stocked ?

Yes, and it's about the same at those spots as well. This morning I spent 3 hours for 2 hits that might not have even been trout, and another two guys that where there before me had one fish between them. They stock again this Monday so maybe this time they will put more that two nets in.

I was there on the 13th in the evening and landed a nice ~9" brook on a white spinner from the downstream side of the bridge. Took a pic and put him back.

Please post the pic. Supposedly the state is only stocking rainbow trout this year.

The waters just now starting to clean up and this afternoon I managed 3 bow's on spinners. I had power bait out as well but nothing but a few nibbles on those rods. Just one other guy was there and he had already caught two on power bait before I got there. No more rain for the next few days should mean good action and maybe enough to fire up the smoker.

That's not a brookie buddy. That is definitely a rainbow...brook trout have a white outline on the edges of their fins.

Just a guess, the state probably uses the bridges for safety reasons and ease of dumping the fish into the water.
