Opening Day on the Pequest
 

Hit the Pequest today early, was there for the 8 am start.

Weather was kinda cold, wind was howling, river ran high, a little off color, wading was a little treacherous.

Did not beat the skunk today, however saw some big bows pulled up, I mean like 5-6 lbs. most fish......

Not as much people as I thought, but enough.

Hot dog Johnnie's for lunch.

Drove home past Budd Lake, still locked up with ice......

Not a bad opening day despite no fish, it's just getting started ! Can't believe some of the lakes are still frozen on opening day :eek:

Smaller ponds are free of ice or getting close. Even up in the poconos anything under 5 acres is pretty clear but the larger lakes remain mostly ice covered.
