New PB Largemouth
Visited my parents in Port St. Lucie, FL last week and caught this from the retention pond where they live. Went 6.9 pounds and is now my new personal best largemouth.

Re: New PB Largemouth
This was the first fish I caught on about my 4th or 5th cast, and it was just underneath that mat of grass. After putting her back, I proceeded to catch a bunch more smaller ones on every second or third cast, so it seemed they were deferring to the "alpha" bass, and once she headed for deeper water after being released, every other one started feeding.
I also decided to satisfy a curiousity I had about some of those little drainage canals that run everywhere down those parts. I fished the one behind my parents house, which was only about 10-12 feet across, and only a foot or two deep. I ended up catching a 16-17 inch bass from a basin right next to the road from that, so the bass are literally everywhere down there. |
