Ice still holding on....
 

Pics from ponds and lakes in Sussex County. Only one lake had some decent open water. The rest were fairly locked up with a little thin ice along edges. Still thinking it could be another 7-10 days - maybe more - before the ice is gone.

Went scouting too. pompton lake is 90% open.
fished Pequannock River tca, what a mess w garbage but river was fishable. no fish. didn't look to be stocked yet.

Oh, ok lol... I assumed u meant the quest. Either way, that's still a travesty. We should bring back the tar and feather punishment. Publicly humiliate the people who have such blatant disregard for our natural resources!

Check the Sign!
 

If you can enlarge the sign in the background, this scene becomes even more absurd. There is a $5,000 fine for illegal dumping! I can't read the sign on the tree in the back of the picture but it might be a trout stocking sign. Can you confirm the sign? Is it a stocking point? Lastly, it looks like this is behind a business or businesses judging from the dumpsters in the foreground. If this is a place the state stocks trout, I would send a copy of the picture to Paul Tarlowe at the Pequest Hatchery or to law enforcement. If not, try to contact the nearest TU chapter and have them put some pressure on the businesses in question. If that litter gets into the stream, then what's the sense of having a trout conservation area if the river is polluted.

Yup seasonal TCA, behind the Valley Health medi-center off hamburg turnpike in Riverdale.
Here is a picture with the TCA signs and stocking sign, looking 5 feet right of the trash pile. this is a strange TCA location compared to the others. i think the tca was perviously upstream more. sad, sorry for hijacking the thread topic.

Pictures of lakes in Sussex interesting. Does anyone know if Round Valley Reservoir is open yet? FB Beher Bait & Tackle two days ago, said frozen. Assumption is, w/chill these last 2 days, still is. 20 degrees or colder tonight.
