Trolling Motor Prop?

I was recently looking into getting a replacement / upgrade prop for my Minn Kota. Not much selection but it looks like the best one available is a " weedless " wedge design. It would Def come in handy in certain places I fish and not necessary in others. Anyone have any experience with these? Worth the extra $? Also kinda wondering if it has any affect on overall power / speed?

That looks exactly like the prop on my Minn Kota. Can't say about differences in speed or anything because it came with it.

all the minn kotas come with a weedless prop unless somebody swapped it out for the power prop. that one you have pictured is for one of the bigger motors, iirc. you have to match the prop to your motor case diameter, and minn kota only has one weedless prop per diameter, so you'll have to go aftermarket if the one you already have isn't working for you (or if the one you have is not already the weedless prop).

I have the endura maxx 55# thrust and it came with a standard, round prop. I'm assuming that's the "power prop". The weedless prop has a bigger diameter (I think) and the flared out tips.

After a few seasons mine has worn down a bit and has some small chunks missing from bouncing off rocks. Just looking to get the most push out of my motor. I like the weedless feature but not if it's going to affect overall performance in situations where weedless isn't necessary........

you match the prop to the motor, there are a few sizes out there for diff shaft diameters. they dont make much difference, you may see .1 or .2 mph between the regular prop and the weedless prop. look on ebay, they are cheap on there if you look around, if you want speed you gotta go up in thrust and even then it doesnt make much difference.

It's really a simple hack to fit the three bladed Motorguide prop to th equivalent Minn Kota. It's quieter, faster and at the slower speeds is way more efficient. It's not even close. It's a better prop.

Thanks! Thats the only one I could find that matches my model motor? I'll prob just grab it since it is pretty cheap so any improvement would be worth the cost.

Plus, for an extra$10, I can get a quick release prop-nut kit to switch them out if I move from weedy to shallow and rocky. Also, if I bust the pin, I can change it faster than a NASCAR pit crew and keep fishin!!!!! :D

Is it spring yet?

Easy as in just drilling out the center? Or does the pin fit differently? I'm interested........

The fit is sloppy back and forth on the armature. It will slide right on but you have to use a spacer to fill the slot at the front. Two small pieces of drill, rod, one on each side thus leaving the center of the hub open. If you look inside the hub you should be able yo see what I mean. I use it on my kayak and if all i do is fish with little or no high speed travel the battery reads over 90% after 3 or even 4 hrs. It's as good in weeds as the Minn-Kotas.
