Big Eyes on the Big D

I wasnt there but my neighbor went ice fishing on the big D today ! Banner day numerous big eyeballs up to 28" , trout & some asst panfish.
Couple ran him off big fish !
NY / PA border region upstate .

it's on my list of fishing experiences to conquer! can't seem to match schedules with anyone experienced in ice fishing big rivers though. We did a bit of little river fishing this weekend and it was a nice flurry of perch, crappie, and gills.

Is it jigging and/or tip-ups? I saw photos of someone catching pike/Passaic River through the ice w/tip-ups. If tip-ups, how much lead? 28 inches--that's a great walleye.

All jigging spoons / raps tipped with minnow heads . This day jiggers caught big fish , TUP's pan fish.
