Quick trip to RVR
Just got back from college for Thanksgiving break, and decided to try my luck out with RVR. The day before I bought shiners, so even with this questionable weather, I was "forced " to go out. I got to the boat launch area around 7, and started to layout my 3 rods. After a couple of minutes out I hooked up with a small 13 inch largemouth. Curious of why bass were still biting, but regardless I kept on at it. At around 9 I left, and ended up catching 3 bass and one pickerel. Not bad first trip out, except one of my rods were ripped out of the holder and is somewhere trailing behind a fish. A rock must of gotten stuck in the reel, cause I set the drag before laying it down...oh well. If someone does catch the fish, you can keep the rod but I'd love to know what I missed out on catching.

Re: Quick trip to RVR
Damn that blows, another casualty to the rvr. had to be a beast to get that done. The story alone is almost worth braving the weather for (once you're over the lost gear). Not caught a pickerel on the big lake side before - always on the swim side.
Bottom fishing shiners I'm assuming? Rvr sure has left many a victim over the years.... |
