Reach is alive...
Left Keyport around 11am headed to reach around bouy 12 where I had them before. Went over large bunker schools. A couple of hours trolling produced 1 Striper 36" and few blues. My rig also caught about 200 feet of wire with a lure and A junk ball of mono. Chartreuse shads on umbrela rig worked for me. Spoons, other colors didn't work me (heard someone in my marina caught all his big stripers on spoons, thinking I need to learn how to use spoons:cool:). Water temps around 40s. Isn't it too cold for stripers? Thought stripers like 50s. It was like calm lake today. Overall it was very nice afternoon on the water. Lots of boats in the reach. Hope everyone caught some fish, tight lines.

Re: Reach is alive...
My seperate and very accurate Furuno temp sensor was reading between 52 and 54 Deg in Raritan Bay between 8am and 4:30pm. Thats 3 feet below the water line. Perhaps the sensor you were using is a bit off. Spraying the connectors on the unit with contact cleaner might help. Good Luck

Thanks; it may be the sensor then. I was kinda surprised too. Back to work now and will be back again on the weekend. Anyone going night fishing?
