Bergen county fishing
Hey all,
I live in fort lee area... I have a home in pt pleasant beach so majority of my fishing is done in that area. I mainly fish freshwater up by my primary residence when I'm jonesing hard to wet a line. I've tried my luck with the Hudson but have had limited luck if eels and cats and never got a bass from land. I have tried some common spots and have just met rough crowds and lots of snags. I understand not to far from me in the Hackensack they have a decent fishery, especially in the Meadow lands area. Anyways I would love some general insight as to better my odds since Id love to be able to kill some time a few nights a week without embarking on a 140 mile round trip and limited sleep for work the next day. Much appreciated. Mr.WhaleFart  |

Fish the river in Secaucus behind the hotel Red Roof Inn. Use finesse or ronz lures. I haven't done it but I have seen a big bass jump while I was in the area. Be careful lots of hookers and pimps in that hotel.

Besides the hookers and pimps, no one bothers you back there?

IN Secaucus, Laurel Hill Park there is a ramp and floating dock.
I've seen a couple fill a 5 gallon bucket with white perch on worms. |
Re: Bergen county fishing
Check out the freshwater fishing forum here. There are a lot of options in north Jersey that feed the jones when you can't be on the salt.

Caught many stripers off Mill Creek Point Park. Nice parking area and paved area to fish from. Also has a boat launch ramp on the creek that feeds the Hackensack River. I do C&R , but have seen many people take the bass home for dinner.
