Back to trout...
After the longest stretch of no trout fishing in my 34 years trout fishing - 91 days - I went out today after the rain stopped. Although the streams were no where near high, some did get back to seasonal levels and with a little added tint from runoff, the fishing was great. Most were sub-legal sized trout and yoy fish but a few big ones came to hand including 17" and 18" wild browns on successive casts(on a size #1 Panther Martin(1/32 oz) no less). Nice to be trouting again and hopefully more rain over the next few weeks during the spawn = more big trout. Just goes to show you don't need to drive four hours to the middle of Pa or NY to catch trophy trout. Little old NJ has plenty of them.
