Catskills fishing

Has anyone ever fished in the Catskills? In the Wurtsboro and Monticello area. Is there rivers to fish for trout? I know there are lakes. What is there to fish for in those lakes?

Thank you

The neversink river is a nice trout river with public access. There's also the Bashakill on 209 in wurtsboro. Tons of pickerel and bass, it's also a great spot for migratory birds. You can Google public access spots.

Alot of those lakes off the quick way are private. Good smb, the usual suspects, no pike.

From Monticello it's a short run west on Rt 17 to the Willowemoc/Beaverkill fishery. Excellent trout fishing. Also as
gwl2onieda stated, the Neversink boasts some mighty fine brown trout angling.
