Great Peace Meadow

Hey Guys,

I am looking to walk the banks of the Passaic in Great Peace meadows. I want to land a good sized pike. I usually park right off of two bridges road about a half mile away from the bridges. Was curious is there is a better access point than this?

I also wouldn't mind the company of one of you NJFers looking to be my guide.

Looking to go this Sunday morning.

Thanks in advance !

If you don't mind a bit of a soggy walk, you can access it from Peace Valley Rd. Not sure if that's in Montville or Lincoln Park, but there are a few rough trails that bring you to the river.

It's Great PIECE Meadows, named after Jebediah Piece who sailed up the Passaic in 1692.

Totally off topic, but one of those ATV riders got killed in the Great Piece Meadows last week:

I hope the others have learned their lesson about riding around back there. Its ILLEGAL to ride atv's or any other motor vehicles back there. I've contacted every official agency I know telling them they are back there: Montville and Fairfield police; Natural Lands Trust. Wildlife Preserves Inc; NJDEP and Fairfield twp. Now that someone has been killed, maybe they'll be more vigilent about patrolling that land.
