Spruce Run w Mikey
 

Got out saturday am w Mikey Topaz, and met Dale on the water for a bait delivery. Got a late start w all the running around, but after checking a spot or two we found em. Started w a 6 rod spread and had a double header in the first few min. Mikey got a lesson in freshwater tuna trolling and hes hooked now lol. We got a few nice ones and had LOTS of short strikes, which I havent experienced yet this year. In the end we had a bunch of fish, and we each got a nice hog wiper a piece. We all had some laughs and it was good seeing Dale out there, he had a rough start w a breakoff and some short strikes but came back strong w a half dozen or so himself. Water is super low, below the end of ramp, and theres no bait avail so its done for the year IMO.......Enjoy the porn fellas......

Great fish fellaz! Looks like a lot of fun. Way to put a catch together. Nice weather you guys had out there. No calls to FASTEDDIE, no invite!!! I don't know, I'm up at 5 every day ready to roll. LOL!!! Thanx for the porn, good to see the boyz wackin em up!:D

Nice pics.

I was out there Saturday afternoon and evening. I made the mistake of launching my kayak at the pier and had to slog through the mud until the water got deep enough to float my kayak.

I was taken back by how low the water was. All the areas I wanted to fish were all high-and-dry. On the bright side, it gave me a chance to see the contours of the land that are normally beneath the water.

The bite was slow in the afternoon but picked up nicely in the evening. I caught some smallmouth bass and the ubiquitous channel catfish.

I also got to see two bald eagles and an osprey. Just a nice afternoon out.

Phil we were actually down at manasquan res but I thought I would send the lurkers up your way to skunk out at SR and scratch their boats trying to launch, its reverse spotburning, like posting a Hopatcong walleye and saying its skunksville HAHA!

Sorry Jimmy didn't realize that. (they look so much alike) Wouldn't matter much anyway. Because if you know how to catch them, you know where there at and if you don't, well you just won't catch them.:confused:
