Gazillion shads

Today I was fishing. I saw gazillion shads along the shore hanging around rocks. But No Bass chasing. I just saw so many 6-8 inch bass fries along with shads.

I wonder why bass are not chasing these shads - they were pretty big decent size shads.

I caught and released a 9" largemouth bass in Carnegie Lake that spit out a shad recently.

The entire Hackensack River is loaded with Gizzards all the way up to the Lake Tappan Dam, It's a real problem. They have killed all my fishing holes. All the predatory fish have an "all you can eat" buffet and wont hit anything.

I am catching / snagging / foul-hooking shads when I cast blades into deep water. They are all over the place and bass doesn't feel the need to chase.
