Bluefish Line Question ?
What pound test are you guys using for Bluefish on a party boat ? I am going to re-spool a conventional reel and am looking for a good line for use on a party boat. I have a spinner with 20 lb that works well. Any special brand ? Thanks and Tight Lines !

MONO. 40 lb. pink Ande.

Re: Bluefish Line Question ?
20# is plenty. I prefer Berkley XL but some like Suffix Elite. Loosen up the drag let em swim away from the boat and bring em in when you feel they tired some.

Re: Bluefish Line Question ?
If there weren't too many on board & I wanted to play, I'd use 20# rig...otherwise I'd go with 30# rig and mostly lift 'em...of course if it's railed or close to it, you can't (or shouldn't). Try circle hooks on wire leader-at least 90% hooked in right jaw hinge and no need to strike-just lock in and reel steadily...

Re: Bluefish Line Question ?
Thanks Guys, im going to go with a 30lb on the conventional and 20 on the baitrunner. I have never tried a circle on the Blues , only the Striped ones, but I just might give then a try. Good Luck and Thanks Again !

Re: Bluefish Line Question ?
I use 25lb on the spinner and 30lb on the conventionals. Blues aren't line shy and on a PB I want to control the fish and not tangle others.

Re: Bluefish Line Question ?
30 lb ande for daytime, 40 lb ande for night time! Put thumb on spool and say take or bleed and pull them over the rail!

Re: Bluefish Line Question ?
20-40lb Mono. Heavier the better on party boats so you can horse em up and stay out of tangles on busy boats.

Re: Bluefish Line Question ?
What type knot are you using to tie the wired hook ? My hands and eyes are not as good as they used to be ! Looking for something easy. PB in PT Pleasant are doing pretty good with the Blues. Was out Tue Night and landed 8 (10 to 12 lbs pool about 17) lost about 6 i think the knot was slipping Thanks

Re: Bluefish Line Question ?
I like the palomar to join the line to the swivel. Use a haywire twist to join the wire to the swivel and hook
