Pr 8/11
Fished/walked for a couple hrs today. First fish missed right at shore, looked to be a freshly stocked guy...Moved on and landed my first fish for the day, another newbie, bout 8 inches Id say, on a mepps:
http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/...ps42ca6615.jpg Moved on again and caught a nicer fish, between 2-3lbs on the grip, on a kvd spinner: http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/...psefd667ab.jpg Moved again, and caught my final and biggest fish, between 4-5lbs, on the same kvd spinner: http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3e0a46b1.jpg Didnt re-tie after catching the last one, few casts and line goes SNAP, bye bye spinner. Decided to call it a day after that. |
Re: Pr 8/11
Good to see the smaller fish around, they're the future beasts of the river. Nice catch dude. I kinda want that little guy for my fish tank. I'll jig em up on my ultra lite ice rod when I'm bored, LOL! Good report!!!:D

Re: Pr 8/11
You turned a Pocket Pike into two better Pike, nice work.
They tend to totally dominate and inhale those spinners. Make sure your leader can handle it. |
Re: Pr 8/11
Surprisingly none of them inhaled the lures. All were hooked right in the front and came out easily. I had 50lbs power pro. I usually check after each fish but was little pumped up and forgot :o

Re: Pr 8/11
They'll clip that braid like a scissor. Use an actual leader, either steel or heavy fluoro. A few that I caught yesterday inhaled a 9/16 oz spinnerbait and the 40 lb fluoro leader was def the difference between clean releases and having a few pike rocking some unnatural jewelry out there.
