Greenwood Lake kayak launch spots
Hello all,
Been awhile since I posted. I recently purchased a house in West Milford, about 5 minutes from the southern tip of GWL. Does anyone know if you can launch from Browns Point? Or if theres a good spot in Belchers Creek to launch from? I was thinking of getting out there Saturday but I want to be near the Southern end, where its more shallow, hoping to stay away from all the boat traffic. Thanks!! |

Hey Bling, You're fine launching from Brown's Point. It's pretty much the only public spot to launch on the whole lake.

Awesome, thanks Scott. I should be alright on that southern end in the kayak right? Fish the creek area for bass n stuff?

The old gazebo by Lutheran church is the only designated spot in the village.

Re: Greenwood Lake kayak launch spots
Im on LH almost every weekend thru the year and I fished Greenwood most of the past fall. Personally there are SO many better places to fish especially from a kayak. Boat traffic alone makes the bite tuff after the early morning, it turns the fish off big time. There is nothing better than an electric only lake or even a 9.9 max for kayaks. I see guys every morning on LH paddling away and I go WAY wide and try to never wake anybody out, but the pleasure boaters dont care one bit for the fisherman. West Milford is a good spot for alot of lakes. U have upper GW and the reservoirs all right there. Just get out rly early if possible and stay shallow, the problem is if theres nothing between u and the other side of the deeper channel the wakes will come hundreds of yards across the water and bounce u around. Just be careful out there, good luck
