Monmouth County

Hey guys, I am new to the boards currently living in the Freehold/Howell Area. I grew up a military brat and was fortunate enough to be able live in the Watertown, NY area fishing in great bass lakes like the black river, thousand islands and other greats. Having trouble catching fish around here. Tried Turkey Swamp several times and have only caught one LM, fished the Manasquan Res a few times with boats only caught sunnys and baby bass, fished the rocks on manasquan almost caught a catfish but point being I am having serious trouble catching. Anyone know of any good spots or have any suggestions for me, i love fresh water fishing but it has been frustrating.

Look no further than Manasquan res!!! If you want smaller more manageable water with guaranteed results hit up molders....You should be able to to find info online for molders fishing preserve....

Try Topenemus in Freehold, fairly shallow, good shoreline access and not heavily pressured. Or sneak in Swimming River res.

Drive around a lot and hit the smaller ponds. Think of your car as a boat and hit a bunch of spots rather than sitting on one.

Try Bucks Mill Park in Colts Neck. The small pond is good for crappie and small bass. There are larger bass in the big pond, and recently some big pickerel showed up.

Caught nothing and saw nothing there the one time I tried it. Guess I have to take a look again.
