Del. R. fish structure
Del. R. (muddy) wet wading, thigh deep catching channel cats on crawdad tails. Standing in one spot, minnows occasionally start nipping @ my legs,
maybe they think the hairs are worms? Then,
WHAM!,
..something much bigger bites just below my knee. Man did I jump! No blood drawn.
The next week @ the same spot, it bites the other leg!, ..quickly reaching down I briefly felt its head. Yesterday, @ the same spot, .I could see the nipping minnows. Then, I felt something bigger against my leg & there it was ..a good size American eel! As he was about to bite, I shooed him off. Probably going after the minnows. I guess Im good fish structure,.....gonna start using a drop line. |
Re: Del. R. fish structure
Good thing they were biting your legs and nothing else :D

Re: Del. R. fish structure
.
Eels are known scavengers. They find a rotting carcass, grab a hold of it, and spin until the meat tears free. Just like a crocodile. I guess the eel figured you haven't moved in a while so you must be dead. . |
