Accurate reel service
Has anyone sent a reel to Accurate for factory service? I have 2 Boss reels that can use some maintenance/lubrication. Just wondering if anyone has used them directly. I service my others reels myself, which are Newells, but don't want to mess around with the Accurate reels.

Give Grumpy's a call in Seaside Park or Dave from the Real seat in Brielle a call before you need to mail out to CA. |
Re: Accurate reel service
Send to Accurate, you will get them back in two to three weeks. Tackle shops will typical take four to six weeks maybe longer, apparently it is because getting parts out of Accurate is painfully slow.

Re: Accurate reel service
I sent my 270 to them and got it back quick and like new! I had to order a spare spool for my twin spin and they machined the part as they don't stock most parts!

Re: Accurate reel service
Had a Boss 270 about three years ago, loved it but had drag problems. Sent it back to them, came back quickly good as new. Problem reoccurred a few months later despite taking extra care of it just the way they told me to so I shipped it back again and they gave me a hard time. "How often do you use it?" they asked me. I cut the figure in half and said about 30 trips. "Oh no, that's way too much...." I'm like scratching my head thinking wtf is up with that? Too much use? After much arguing they fixed it for free and said they wouldn't again so I sold it after getting it back. Loved the reel though. So smooth.
