Tilcon Pond/Lake

I was curious if anyone has fished their, I heard it was difficult to fish on land because of the terrain. I was going to try my luck for the land lock salmon that were stocked. Has anyone caught any their, if so whats the best tackle to use..Thanks!

Its not easy because of a number of factors such as very steep banks dropping off into seemingly bottomless water and dense shrubbery in other spots. I have bushwhacked my way all around but its a lot of effort for few fish. There is also dense weed growth in the shallower areas further hindering fishing. It fished much better years ago when it was first bought. U could fish for half a day and not see anybody. Alas anglers couldn't keep their mouths shut and with the NJDFGW also promoting it, its become SRO on weekends now with 8-10 cars parked by the gate if not more. It should have been managed differently with either no-kill bass and/or some sort of panfish limit as well. Its sort of unique fishery in that when the Musky floods(like REALLY high), it partially flows into there providing more fish.

It was formerly classified as a Trophy Bass lake. Now it's a "Suck our asses" bass anglers lake.

I do very well there ice fishing, decent amount of nice bass and lots of pickerel. This year I saw lots of guys keeping the bass. If you have a kayak or canoe the drag from the gate is not bad and would be a lot better that shore fishing.
