Re: New archery carp state record:
Great fish. After what I seen at the Millstone during the last flood I would say that should be broken by anyone has time to bow hunt for carp. We seen in a flooded field carp pushing 45/50. Pregnant and gorging on fresh grass and worms.

Re: New archery carp state record:
There has been multiple studies that have proven the harmful impact the common carp does to the ecosystems they are introduced in to. They stir settlement up while feeding and spawning. They feed heavily on micro organisms, plankton, and insect larvae that are heavily relied on by our native and game fish. Have no Natural predators especially after the first year of life and a single large female can produce a quarter million eggs in a single spawning season.
Not to mention you did not ask what we do with our carp so how do you know if they go to waste or not? The state record is going to be mounted but we give most of our carp to people that do eat them, to farmers who add them to their manure for better fertilizer, give to commercial turtle trappers, give to other fisherman that use them for catfish and crab bait as well used in chum. http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/a...tachment-1.jpg As a fellow sportsman I don't ask you to agree with what we do but show respect and ask before you assume. We are all on the same team enjoying the great outdoors |

I am also an avid fisherman perusing muskies, pike, steelhead, trout, stripers, and smallmouth but will never criticize anyone that decides to keep a trophy fish I enjoy catching or their limit as long as they do it legally. If i don't agree with it I will fight to change the regulations not against a fellow sportsman
