Sunday in the bay
Was out yesterday for stripers but the day started off when we had trouble gettin the motor running. Squeezed the primer ball a few times and off we went. Was just about to anchor up on some decent marks when we got waved down by a boat who's belt jus broke and over heated the motor. We gave them a tow back to great kills which took almost 2 hours since we had a 19 foot and was towing a 25 foot boat behind us. But we did our good deed and finally got to fishing. Hooked up one bass around 20lbs and picked away at blues for the rest of the day. Heard the bass bite was in the morning so we missed it. Atleast we helped a fellow fisherman in need out. Til next time

Re: Sunday in the bay
Always good to help other follks out!! I wish everyone would have extra stuff onboard, like an extra battery, universal belt or belts to replace. Usually the folks breaking down have nothing, no tools, parts or a clue. I towed someone in a few years back and I asked them to throw me the tow rope they said HUH?? tow rope all we have is this 12 footer I said really. I think some one should put a list together for the newer boaters. Start with a tool list, parts list , a should have list and nice to have list!!!
helping other brings good karma to your boat!!! |
Re: Sunday in the bay
Nice job helping out fellow angler in need. Many would have kept on fishing and assume the next guy will help out

Re: Sunday in the bay
I agree it was a very nice thing you did helping a fewllow boater out. My question is if you don't plan on having tools or extra parts, why not have SeaTow or BoatUS coverage ? That should really be a must....

Re: Sunday in the bay
Nice job on the save.... When we've done the same and people ask if they can give money for gas, I tell them to keep it and buy some towing insurance ;)

He said he forgot to renew it this year. Who knows. I'm hoping the fishing gods reward us soon
