May 6th and May 7th Bass reports - Johnny Bucktails

May 6th: Yesterday was an absolute slaughter. Went after school for only a few hours with my uncle and cousin Frankie. We had bass on the whole time. Bass blowing up around the boat and eating chunks right as i dropped them in the water. It was chaos. We landed a bunch of really nice fish all over 20 pounds and played catch and release until we ran out of bait which didn't take long. I also lost the biggest fish of my life, on her first run she took me too a point in my line that i had never been before. She came up to the surface and i shit my pants. Looked like a whale !! Shook her head two times and POP! Just another fish story i guess. Over 40 pounds for sure. Definitely our best day this year without a doubt. Fish have moved in heavy and its only going to get better.

May 7th: Today was a totally different day from yesterday. We had terrible conditions, wind against tide the whole time. Had an unexpected wind out of the east which made a for sloppy seas. We stuck it out for a while and were greeted with a beautiful 32 pounder. Big fish of the year so far. Only going to get bigger and better. Unfortunately that was the only landed fish for the short trip but had a hell of a time with my friends from school. They are spoiled now.

I met Johnny at the filet table at Browns last year. I know he's over 6 feet.
While I agree that the angle he's holding it doesn't do the fish justice, I have no doubt that John bagged a 32 pounder.
Relation of fish to Parker, that gigantic bunker, and John's previous angling skills, all tell me it's no BS.
No disrespect intended fishingaddict. Keep up the great work Johnny.
Tight lines all,
Tom K.
