Met up with a dormant poster, Fish N Jeep, on Saturday morning up on the lower parts of the Musky. Water was a bit high and a tad stained from the prior evening's wetdown. Decent # of people out. One guy was walking back to his truck with a nice brown on his stringer--prob 6+ lbs. Anyhow, we started fishing...

I was throwing CD3s and FNJ was tossing grubs on jigheads. I dropped one fish early on in some fast water on a silver/black CD3. Headed down stream a bit and managed to pull a lil bow out of some deep stuff. Had a few more hits but everything was light. Had some surface action on whatever was hatching so fish seemed a bit picky.

Jumped in the truck and headed downstream to another spot. There was a pair of guys where we wanted to go so we stayed downstream of them about 75 yrds and fished some deep, fast water. FNJ gets hung up--nope! Huge white sucker foul hooked in the eye socket! Pretty cool... I work my way around him and nail a nice lil' bow in a seam along some ripping water. Released and made a few more casts when my plug got walloped. Felt good. Felt bigger... Stayed down in the heavy water. Get it to the surface and couldnt really make out what it was until I got it to net. My first tiger trout! Cool looking thing--about 14" or so. There's something to be said about hybrid vigor I guess bc it fought like a larger fish. All fins fully intact--a beauty! Does anyone know if these are naturally occurring or are they stocked???

That was about it for that area. FNJ had to take off so I headed home too, but took the long way and hit the upper SBR for a spell. Fished some pools and seams and managed a small bow on a hair jig. About to pack it in but stopped by the Hoffman's Bridge to take a peek. A few fly guys burning calories so I sat back and watched. Once they were done and out of the water fish-less, I slipped in. Saw a couple fish rise closer to the opposing bank. Made a few casts and hooked into a real nice brownie--strong. Also had a few smaller bows follow the jig damn near to my feet.

Not a bad day out. Great weather. Totaled 5 fish--3 bows, a 15" brown and my first tiger trout! Trifecta! Catch em' up!
