Went down to the river to try for my first shad casting from shore. My bud Tom was giving me some pointers while he caught three shad and I was starting to think it was going to have to wait for another day, but just before dark I hooked up with my first and Tom hooked up at the same time so we had a double and got them both to shore. Not bad for one and a half hours of fishing. There were a few boats out but they were not having any luck, seen about ten caught from shore. Sorry no pic we both had our hands full bringing them in on ultra light noodle rods, the ones we use for trout. Good fun and close to home.

Shad from the beach, Shad from the boat. There great fun no matter how you catch em! Sounds like a nice night. I saw guys using surf rods for Shad when I was there. That was interesting. I like the Shad on the ultra lite, can't beat it. Nice to have the action close to home. YEA BUDDY!!!!
