Brookies!
6 Attachment(s)
After only catching rainbows and browns since opening day I have been itching for some brook trout. After a little searching on Google maps for some likely spots near me I went out for two hours and was rewarded with about 30 beautiful brook trout ranging from 4 to 9 inches. All fish came on panther martins and small jigs. If your looking for them try some of the wild trout streams that are listed on NJ fish and wildlife or just explore some small tributaries to larger trout streams!
Could anyone tell me if the fourth picture is a brown? was not expecting that |
Re: Brookies!

Re: Brookies!
Nice man, those wild ones strike and fight like crazy!
I like trying out random small streams to see if they hold wild ones. you should check out http://wildtroutstreams.com and go to NJ wild trout streams its nice seeing these wild trout reports on here instead of on GST website |

Below is why I only chase wild trout. There seems to be an opinion that wild fish are all small. Not true!
