First day on the water
 

I spent most of the morning replacing the transom on my boat, then what better way to test it than to go fishing?

The local lake was stocked with 300 trout yesterday including two dozen monsters between 4 and 8 lbs. I got out late, about 6 pm and trolled for the trout for a while but only bagged a few pickerel and a perch.

I gave up on the trout just before dark and hit some of my favorite bass hotspots with a jig but came up empty.

At least I'm on the board for the year as far as open water.

Water is warming up a bit. Some, if not most seem to be off to a semi-slow start. Keep at !
