Re: fluking question
I use 20,25 & 30 lb in both flouro and reg mono ...depends on depth fishing and water clarity

Re: fluking question
Suffix 30Lb Best All Around.

Re: fluking question
You don't need flouro.

Re: fluking question
I use 30 pound fluorocarbon leader when fluke fishing and have had much success with it. It's virtually invisible under water for fish that are line shy.

Re: fluking question
Pink 20 - 30 # Fluorocarbon leader.. ;)

Re: fluking question
For the ocean, I use 25lb mono for the topshot and leader. But use 20lb florocarbon for the trailer hook.
For the bay, I use 15lb Floro for the whole rig. |
Re: fluking question
Fluke are not line shy...Mono is just fine and a top shot of 3 foot is about the right length. Any quality mono like big game or ande will do.
I scale the mono to the braid i'm using..in waters like the shrewsbury area or sandy hook reef i use 25 lb. with 15 lb braid. deeper water i up the mono to 30 and up the braid to 20 lb test. no swivels --tie the double uni , power pro knot, or the bristol |
Re: fluking question
I would use 30 used to use 25 hooked a big fluke and on a big head shake broke it. Why skimp just incase you get that big fish Fluro is invisible anyway. I'd go 30.
