Central jersey bridge 3/23/14
 

Pitched small rapalas and jigs for about an hour and a half yesterday afternoon at a local lake. Managed about 8 crappie, 2 chubby gills, and a small perch. Small jig heads with gulp minnows 3-4 ft under a float was the ticket. Bunch of guys were bailing fish, too, but mine ended up back in the drink rather than a bucket or cooler. I dont see the need to keep such small fish...can't be much meat on them! Sunnies, golden shiners, yellow perch, crappies, white perch...all in the bucket. At least they had licenses, though.

Can't wait till it warms up already!

I hate the bucket brigade...at least you caught a few...what size jig head do u like using?

Sounds like some steady action to me. Good stuff BROHAM. I'll be hitting the local waters by me later this week. Haven't hit the local bridges in a while. Have you fished our local bass spot recently?

Nope, haven't had a chance yet. Friend of mine was over there on Saturday and said it was a bit high and muddy. No fish for him. I'm sure the crappies are chewing there though. He wasn't throwing small stuff. Love that place! Quiet gem!

BB13...I was using a 1/32 gold jig head with a 1" gulp minnow in smelt color. The panfish were tearing it up under the float. Fish were swirling and bait was popping which blew my mind being as it is so damn cold still!

Wondering where I'll end up this wknd!?!?!
