Soft water Jan. pike
Between work and this crazy weather, I haven't casted a lure or sat in my kayak in over a month. Yesterday, I started the morning with some post season deer scouting and then decided to hit the river. I was not able to launch my kayak in the area I wanted to launch, due to ice, so I kept the kayak on the car and walked about a mile through the woods to the spot I wanted to fish.
About the 5th cast, I had a good pike hooked for a few seconds before getting off (a little rusty and not sure if I even set the hook). About 15 minutes later, I landed a pretty good Jan. pike in the mid 20 inch mark. A good fight and a very healthy looking fish. I had one more strike after that in that area and then tried 3 more spots on the way back to the car without a touch. PS....I don't know you guys fish while standing up !!!! I will take sitting in my kayak anytime ! LOL http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps6d81cfb2.jpg Danny V |

Re: Soft water Jan. pike
I haven't been out in my kayak since December and am going through withdrawals! Glad to see you found some open water and put some cold slime on the boat.
