North Branch 12-1-13
 

I've been inspired by all the great trout reports coming through, so I decided to see if I could get in on it. I fished the North Branch from the park up to the train bridge. I went 1 for 2, landing a fat brookie on a husky jerk, and dropping a fish on a shad rap at the train bridge. I think it was a smallmouth; it barely fought, and I know they get really sluggish in the cold water.

Lots of good looking water in that stretch, I was really surprised I couldn't roll a few more fish.

You caught more than Wilson and I combined today. Neither one of us could buy a fish on the lower South Branch. Hit some new spots and still couldn't get it going. Glad at least you got a few.
