GAMBLER --Striper Report (and Squid?)
 

Tough fishing for us the last two days. Frustrating watching stripers finning the surface and not taking our lures. That's the way it goes some days. Yesterday the bluefish helped the action somewhat but we did not see many of them today. Some of the bass that we caught yesterday and today were nice 20+lbers --just not enough of them. A few times, we saw fish follow a lure right to the boat, then turn away.

The good news is that there are miles of striped bass around and, when they are ready, I'm sure it will be great fishing again. So don't let a slow report keep you home --tomorrow or the next day could bust wide open.

Also, we have been snagging some really big squid the last two weeks and I wonder if someone were to work a tandem squid jig if they would catch a few (or a bunch). Here's a picture of a squid we caught today:
