Early Bass/ Blackfish
 

Left the Highlands at 6:00am heading to the reef for opening day blackfish, took it easy in the dark and rain with a lot of boats motoring towards the hook. Rounded the hook and the dredge barge and ran into a wall of birds with bass rolling on top, I tied on a a27 to one of my blackfish rods and casted away, nailed two shorts right away then decided to continue on my way down the beach to the reef. Ran into some sporadic bird play and tried jigging on marks but nothin doin...
Set up on a nice piece in 40' on the western side of the reef and had action right away, caught around 20 fish in a few hours , and was limited out by 9:30am. Nothing big but an awesome start to the season.

I guess I am not the only one who fish alone all the time:)
Unfortunately boat was pulled out last Tuesday:(( missed this 60 degree November day!

Yeah man , sometimes I find it much easier to fish alone, and for some reason I've had some of my best days alone..
Today I wasn't completly alone ... My brother in law and nephew anchored up right next to me and snapped that picture. They wound up with 9 blackfish and hit some short bass on the way in.
