70 fish in 78 minutes

Yesterday evening I caught and released 70 fish, 47 black crappies, 22 bluegills and a largemouth bass, in 78 minutes in a small Central Jersey Pond where I didn't see another fisherman this year. They all hit a 1/32 oz black leadhead jig and 1" black twister tail on 2 lb test line. A big fish chased a bluegill on the end of my line but didn't catch it. All of the fish were less than 9". That's 3,276 fish in 218 NJ fresh water fishing trips this year for a > 15 fish per trip average while fishing from shore in public fishing areas. 4 fish won NJ Skillful Angler Awards.

What species did you get Skillful Anglers for?

Doesn't chasing high volumes of small species' get tiring? Last thing I need when I go out fishing is to feel like I have to reel in a panfish every 1.1 minutes.

To each his own. Everyone has their different style and preference. To me fishing for trout and bass is boring and pointless. If I don't have the chance to catch a 20 or 30 pound fish, I don't even go fishing anymore. On the same token, guys who consistently catch 30 and 40 pound stripers in the salt may consider what I do boring and pointless. Nice job on the great day fishing NJ219. Way to catch 'em up.

carp, channel catfish, bullhead and sunfish. Yesterday I returned to the same spot with a different colored lure, then caught and released 32 black crappies to 11", 31 bluegills to 8" and 2 warmouth to 9". That's 108 warmouth that I caught there this year. I took a pic of one yesterday and will add a link. http://s865.photobucket.com/user/NJ2...tml?sort=3&o=0 Last week after catching only 1 bass in Carnegie Lake, 5 small fish and a turtle in the Millstone River, 3 small fish in Miry Run Lake, 7 small fish in an unnamed pond in Central Jersey and 9 small fish in Robert G. Martin Lake all week long, I found constant action fishing much more fun. Ultralight jigging is great.

man...you are limited in what you can fish for and where in NJ. I assume you only fish for muskies in half a dozen waterways....Golf is on your horizon soon unless you switch to the salt chuck.
