Daiwa tatula reel?
Anyone ever try it? I'm looking for a low profile baitcaster for fluke, blackfish and maybe stripers. How do you think it will hold up?

Re: Daiwa tatula reel?
I'd go with an Avet SX or Daiwa Saltist for the kind of fishing you mentioned, Tatula is made primarily for fresh water.

Daiwa Lexa with Power Handle - it's the BOMB !! New lower gear ratio is coming out soon --> http://www.njfishing.com/forums/show...highlight=lexa

Re: Daiwa tatula reel?
Yeah SXJ or Daiwa Lexa 300HSP should be looked at. Although I don't like button releases for heavy sinker use, but they seem to hold up well. The Penn International 965/975 reels used to shred the release buttons off with heavy sinkers. Switched over to LD series and never looked back!

Re: Daiwa tatula reel?
Either the Avet SXJ as mentioned or the shimano curado 300ej (the EJ comes with a power handle the E model does not)....I have both, and they're both awesome!!!

Re: Daiwa tatula reel?
Daiwa Lexa 300 all the way! I love my Lexa and my Saltist 20 & 35 are great star drag reels too but if your looking for bait caster definitely Lexa 300.

Have the Lexa 40 with the power handle spooled with samaria 20 and it can't be beat. Waiting to try it with striper metal since it casts a mile.
