Short ride to the Yellow Fin Tuna Grounds

what are some of the states along the east coast that have short boat rides to the yellowfin tuna grounds? I wouldn't mind making a trip out of it and renting a house. But 24 hours on a boat ride for tuna is too difficult for me.

N Carolina is your best bet - Oregon inlet.

I picked up a 1930's book on off shore fishing
It said they used to set out the cedar plugs for tuna as soon as they got into sandy hook channel from the bay

Either Oregon or (I think a bit closer) Hatteras out of the Outer Banks. On good days, it's not unheard of for boats to fill the fish boxes and be back at noon from either of those inlets.
